University of Virginia alumnus, Kojiro Ichida, created Ichida Limited Liability Company in the spring of his last year in Charlottesville, VA. One of the main goals in the formation of the Ichida company came from the desire for beautiful and quality gemstones rings at a reasonable price. Inspiration for his jewelry comes from Kojiro’s Japanese cultural heritage and long lineage of artisans. The Ichida family hail from the cultural capital of Japan, Kyoto. The Ichida family specialized in traditional, artisan kimonos from the 1700s until the latter half of the 20th century. Today, Kojiro hopes to carry on the family legacy of the art of the everyday.
